Program Description

This program focuses on both the compliance and practical issues related to claims of harassment, investigation of complaints, required documentation, and what constitutes a hostile working environment.

Creating work environments that are free from harassment, hostility, and retaliation is the objective of Preventing Harassment and Hostile Work Environments. This program focuses on both the compliance and practical issues related to claims of harassment, investigation of complaints, required documentation, and what constitutes a hostile working environment. Clearly defining what is and is not harassment is the starting point for this program and what penalties organizations and individuals can face when harassment is present.

Preventing Harassment and Hostile Work Environments continues with the boundaries for hostile work environments and how to monitor, respond, and document any claims of hostility. Cursing, yelling, sexual innuendos, isolation, lack of access and disparate treatment are all covered in detail for both the human resource professional and manager. Equally important in this unit is avoiding any tendency to over-react to claims and to provide empathetic but non-judgmental solutions to these potentially toxic issues.
